Sono passati quasi 2 anni e mezzo dall’ultima volta che abbiamo visitato lo stabilimento di Sinterit a Cracovia e tutto è cambiato. Non solo per i drammatici effetti del COVID e della guerra appena oltre il confine con l’Ucraina, ma anche e soprattutto per come l’azienda è stata in grado di affrontare questi eventi e di uscirne dall’altra parte.

It has been nearly 2 and half years since we last visited the Sinterit facility in Krakow and everything has changed. Not just for the dramatic effects of COVID and the war just beyond the border with Ukraine, but also and especially for how the Polish company has been able to navigate these events and come out on top on the other side, with two brand new printers, the Lisa X and NILS, ready to open up new SLS markets.

Kraków, Poland-based Sinterit manufactures selective laser sintering (SLS) 3D printers in the compact and industrial-sized range. All its printers offer an open printing system, with 32 parameters that users can adjust to optimize their prints, and the ability to use third-party materials for printing. Sinterit sells its printers in the U.S. through a partner network.

Sinterit, based in Kraków, Poland, recently introduced its Nils 480, a new selective laser sintering (SLS) 3D printer designed for manufacturers looking to print more production parts quickly.

Sinterit announced it has fully opened operations in the US. The Kraków-based company produces a line of well-regarded low-cost SLS 3D printers. These devices can print both prototype or end-use parts in nylon materials, and also offers an “open materials” program for those wishing to use other thermoplastic powders not currently in the company’s materials catalog.

Polish 3D printer manufacturer Sinterit has also made several recent business announcements, having signed cooperation agreements with three new partners and opened its new facility in the US. The firm will be represented in the US by new resellers Impac System Engineering in the South, Vision Miner in the West, and Master Graphics in the Midwest.

The firm has also opened a new warehouse facility on the East Coast which will help it to accelerate delivery times to its target customers, and “facilitate formalities to international transport.”

The need for a reliable 3D printer increases when the continuity of supply chains becomes uncertain. Engineers and designers must be 100% sure that parts they have developed are production-ready before they order the first delivery of components.

LS 3D printer producer Sinterit announced that it has expanded its activity in the United States by hiring Tim Sheehan as its VP of Sales and Marketing in the country. Sheehan, formerly VP of Global Sales for Nano Dimension, will lead Sinterit’s continued expansion in the US and help to build up its reseller network here as well. The company’s CEO, Maxime Polesello, explained that Sheehan knows the market, as well as what clients need, which is why he’s the right person for the job.

We mentioned last year how Sinterit, a Polish 3D printer manufacturer, had built on its previous Lisa machine and introduced the Sinterit Lisa Pro. Well, now they’ve done it again with the launch of the Lisa X.

Lisa X takes what made the Lisa Pro good and makes it better. After her makeover, Lisa now offers a larger maximum print size (180 x 130 x 300 mm), a more powerful laser (30W vs. 5W), a wider material selection, and much faster print speeds. The new printer is up to 12 times faster than the Lisa Pro and can finish most print jobs in 24 hours, according to the manufacturer.

On Tuesday, March 15th, at 10 am, Sinterit will hold another webinar about its industrial SLS 3D printer, the NILS 480, which the company calls a game-changer. During the webinar, which has been pre-recorded, attendees will learn about the price of the NILS 480, along with its size and speed, in addition to possible ROI calculations and applications for the system. At the end of the webinar, Sinterit Channel Manager Jakub Kralka will answer audience questions.

Sinterit announced a partnership with Forward AM, the AM unit of BASF.

BASF is the largest chemical producer on the planet, with annual revenues exceeding €60B (US$68B). In the past few years the company has taken a very strong interest in additive manufacturing, and has partnered with countless players in the 3D space. So much activity was underway that BASF spun it out under the Forward AM banner. Forward AM now provides a wide variety of AM services, ranging from consulting, design, printing and materials development.

Polish 3D printer manufacturer Sinterit has appointed Tim Sheehan as its new VP of Sales and Marketing for the United States. Hired with the goal of helping the firm expand its business in the lucrative US manufacturing market, Sheehan will lead its partnership activities in the country, and work to build its reseller network there.

German life science agency Aquila Biolabs GmbH has turned to Sinterit 3D printing in a bid to cut back the price of its low-volume biosensor half manufacturing runs.

Designed to research cell cultures and flow into fluids in lab exams, Aquila Biolabs’ proprietary bio-pumps and sensors are constructed to specification, that means that scaling their manufacturing would usually require an costly array of tooling. Nonetheless, by adopting the Lisa Professional 3D printer, the agency has now discovered a manner of flexibly producing customized components as they’re wanted, and embracing ‘Kanban’ stock management.

Sinterit was founded by a trio of engineers – including CTO Michał Grzymała- Moszczyński – to address some of the problems it had identified in the design and manufacturing space. The solutions to those problems have come in the form of the Lisa for prototyping and education, and the Lisa Pro for functional prototypes and research, both of which fall under the $20k price banner, with the recently launched NILS 480 addressing industry needs. Across all three models, the company has installed 1,000 units.

“The combination of Sinterit’s hardware and our SLS powders will enable customers to realize new industrial applications in reliable high quality. This step contributes to the continuous industrialization of additive manufacturing,” said Stefan Josupeit, head of business line powder bed fusion, BASF 3D Printing Solutions.

Using its new Lisa Pro, Aquila Biolabs now 3D prints the LIS in PA12 pieces, including an internal skeletal structure containing its main electronics, and a barrel for the device’s outer housing. By switching to SLS production, the firm has effectively been able to simplify its workflow while dramatically increasing its throughput, and its revised setup allows it to produce up to 400 parts in a single run.
