How CADgen PRO works

CADgen PRO is a membrane-based nitrogen generator that uses compressed-air separation technology. Before nitrogen reaches the process, the air passes through integrated pre-filtration, while electronic controls regulate operating parameters in real time. Startup is managed gradually to protect the membrane, and the system calibrates automatically rather than relying on repeated manual intervention.
CADgen PRO side

Stable nitrogen quality, simpler operation

1. Stable nitrogen quality

Electronic control maintains nitrogen purity and flow in real time, helping the system stay within the intended operating window.

2. Less manual adjustment

Automatic calibration and integrated control reduce operator intervention during startup and daily operation.

3. Membrane protection

A controlled pressure ramp and integrated protection logic are designed to reduce the risk of pressure shock to the membrane.

4. Plug-and-play setup

Filters, regulators, and controls are integrated into the housing, with setup handled via touchscreen.

5. Lower maintenance burden

The integrated concept is positioned to reduce inspections, servicing burden, and unplanned intervention compared with more manual or oversized alternatives.

6. Operational confidence

Real-time monitoring of key components and filter status supports earlier visibility into deviations and maintenance needs.

CADgen PRO nitrogen generator combines membrane technology, integrated pre-filtration, and electronic control in one compact system.

Core components

Parker Membrane & Integrated Pre-Filtration
The core separation system combines a high-quality Parker membrane with integrated pre-filtration to support stable nitrogen generator performance and help protect the most sensitive part of the unit.
Electronic Pressure & Flow Control
Microprocessor-controlled valves regulate key operating parameters in real time, helping nitrogen generator maintain stable performance, protect the membrane, and reduce manual adjustment.
Optical Nitrogen Purity Sensor
The optical purity sensor gives the operator direct visibility into nitrogen quality and is presented as a more stable long-life solution without the regular calibration burden described for lower-end sensor types.
Integrated 4 L Air Tank
The integrated 4 L air tank is positioned as a compact buffer that helps stabilize supply during demand fluctuations while keeping the overall system more compact and easier to manage.

Reduced manual setup

Manual workflow
  • Manual pressure adjustment at startup
  • Greater dependence on correct operator handling
  • Slower response to changing nitrogen demand
  • Additional inspection or servicing burden in tank-heavy setups
  • Approximate quality control instead of continuous verification
CADgen PRO workflow
  • Integrated startup and operating control
  • Automatic calibration after startup
  • Real-time purity and component monitoring
  • Membrane-protection logic during startup
  • Compact integrated 4 L tank with no mandatory inspections

Benefits of process control

  • Reduced operator dependence – automatic calibration and integrated control reduce reliance on manual setup in nitrogen generator operation.

  • Earlier visibility into deviations – the nitrogen generator continuously monitors key components and filter status.

  • Lower downtime and defect risk – early detection and automatic correction help reduce the risk of operational downtime and production defects.

  • More predictable commissioning and restart – controlled startup, pressure ramp-up, and automatic calibration support a more repeatable startup routine with less manual intervention.

Complete your Lisa X setup with CADgen PRO

CADgen PRO helps unlock the full capability of Lisa X by supplying nitrogen for workflows that use the printer’s nitrogen chamber. It is particularly relevant for materials and applications that require a controlled atmosphere.
For selected materials, nitrogen is part of the intended workflow and helps expand the usable material range of Lisa X. In the Lisa X ecosystem, this includes PA11 Onyx, PA11 ESD, and PA11 Carbon Fiber — materials for which nitrogen is required during printing. By providing an in-house nitrogen source tailored to SLS workflows, CADgen PRO supports access to these material options while helping maintain the controlled conditions needed for print quality, material stability, and demanding end-use applications.

FAQ

What is CADgen PRO?

CADgen PRO is a membrane-based nitrogen generator designed primarily for SLS 3D printers equipped with a nitrogen chamber. Thanks to its configurable parameters, it can also be used in other industrial applications that require a stable supply of high-quality nitrogen.

What applications is CADgen PRO best suited for?

CADgen PRO is built mainly for SLS 3D printing in an inert atmosphere, but it also works well in industrial environments where consistent nitrogen quality is critical.

What nitrogen purity and flow rate does it offer?

CADgen PRO delivers nitrogen purity of up to 99.8% (±2%) and a nitrogen output of up to 25 l/min. The inlet pressure range is 6–10 bar.

Is CADgen PRO difficult to install?

No. It is a plug-and-play system with filters, regulators, and controls integrated into a sealed housing. Setup is done through the touchscreen, and no professional installation or commissioning is required.

Does the generator require manual calibration or adjustment?

CADgen PRO is designed to minimize manual intervention. Its electronic control system automatically calibrates the unit, maintains operating parameters in real time, and reduces the risk of operator error.

How does CADgen PRO protect the membrane?

The system uses electronic control and a gradual startup process to prevent sudden pressure spikes that could damage the membrane. It also includes an integrated three-stage pre-filtration system that protects the membrane from contaminants, moisture, and oil aerosols in the compressed air supply.

What are the compressed air and power requirements?

CADgen PRO requires an inlet pressure range of 6–10 bar, supports a maximum operating pressure of 13.0 bar g, requires inlet air quality of 1-4-1 according to ISO 8573-1:2010, and has power consumption of 100 W.

Does CADgen PRO monitor nitrogen purity?

Yes. CADgen PRO maintains nitrogen purity and flow continuously and uses an optical purity sensor designed for high stability and long service life. The sensor typically operates for 5 years or more without regular calibration.

Does CADgen PRO require frequent maintenance?

No. The membrane technology operates without moving parts and supports low-maintenance, quiet operation. Filters are typically replaced every 1–2 years depending on inlet air cleanliness, and the Parker membrane is designed for at least 10 years of operation without replacement.

Why is CADgen PRO a better choice than lower-cost nitrogen generators?

CADgen PRO provides more stable nitrogen purity control, better membrane protection, less dependence on manual adjustments, and lower long-term operating risk. It is also positioned as a more cost-effective long-term solution because of its reliability, lower servicing requirements, and more consistent performance.

Is CADgen PRO compatible with Lisa X?

Yes. CADgen PRO is intended for SLS 3D printers equipped with a nitrogen chamber and is a complementary nitrogen solution for Lisa X workflows.

Is CADgen PRO noisy?

No. Its membrane-based design generates very low noise levels and operates without moving parts, which supports quiet operation.
