What benefits will a Multi PHS bring to your business?

Easy and fast material change
Finegrain polyamides used in SLS 3D printing are morphologically distinct from each other – and give different mechanical parameters after sintering.

The more significant the difference, the deeper PHS cleaning is required.

The station is designed so all key spaces are easily reachable – with vacuum and other accessories full deep cleaning takes up to 30 mins!



Multi-material
MultiPHS has 6 settings programmed for working with multiple materials.

This covers the most common types of SLS powder, not only from Sinterits palette but also 3rd party materials.

This allows for maximum versatility and opens up a whole spectrum of possible applications.

Compatibility with all SLS printers
The workstation can be used with all Sinterits printers, but also with any compact or industrial SLS device available on the market

However we recommend using a complete Sinterits solution, we also understand that our customers may have more diverse machine park to fulfill their specific needs.

To answer these needs we made sure our workstation can fit right in with any professional 3D printing setting.
Efficient powder recovery – up to 95%
The MultiPHS collects all unsintered powder in the 20l container.

You can reuse this powder in your next print. Simply add the fresh powder to the powder chamber and the PHS does the rest, setting you up with a refreshed powder mix for your next print run.

If you want to refresh more rarely used material you can also use the solo-sifting cycle – no need to put the powder through the whole system.

Advanced powder managing system
MultiPHS works in sync with all other components of Sinterits solution: printer, ATEX vacuum, and sandblaster, to give the user maximum control over material usage.

The workstation also features an advanced powder recovery system for optimal material recovery, enabling cost reduction through reuse.
Intuitive interface
The improved panel allows users to choose between 5 different sifting programs dedicated to morphologically different materials. Added powder sensors detect an overload or full depowdering and shorten the cleaning process.

The panel also controls connected peripherals like vacuum and sandblaster.
Adjustable workspace
The grid in the depowdering chamber can be lowered and adapted for large print cakes from NILS and other industrial-grade printers. Changing the setting from one system to another only takes a couple of minutes.

The set includes accessories compatible with compact and industrial series. Tools holder is attached with strong magnets and can be moved easily.
Antidust cover
Plexiglass cover minimizes powder spreading, without compromising work comfort. Protects the user from inhaling the powder from the air, which is in line with even the most strict safety requirements.

FAQ

What does the workflow of Multi PHS look like?

Start by removing the cake with the IO box so it can be smoothly moved from the printer area and put on the Multi PHS to depowder the prints. After removing the unsintered powder from the print, turn on the Multi PHS to begin collecting the powder. The sifting and refreshing process take place in the Multi PHS. You only need to fill in the powder chamber with the refresh powder; Multi PHS will mix it for you. After refreshing, move the container with refreshed powder out to reuse it for the next print. 

How messy is the overall post-processing?

Contact with the powder was limited at each stage of the process. 

The IO Box (added to the printer) helps move the print cake out carefully and slowly, limiting the powder mess. Once you have a print cake on the Multi PHS space cleaning the print, the unsintered powder goes down so you don’t have to move the powder to another place. 

The suction hose and powder wiper (attached to the Multi PHS) help you clean up after the depowering stage.

To limit the spread of powder, use the funnel when adding fresh powder from the container to sifted, unsintered material. The funnel is available in our Dedicated Powder Tools set.

What are the differences between PHS and Multi PHS?

There are several new features added to Multi PHS:

  • Plexiglass cover to minimize the spread of dust.
  • Movable tool holder.
  • Adjustable workspace compatible with printouts from LisaX, NILS480, and 3rd party SLS printers.
  • 5 sifting programs for morphologically different materials.
  • Ability to separate the sieve for solo-sifting.
  • Overall improvements in UX/UI and workstation construction.

 

How is solo sifting useful?

You can unplug the sieve from the Multi PHS, slide it outside on the guides and use as a separate sifting unit. It’s a useful feature if you print from rarely used material, and don’t want to clean the whole workstation just for it. You can clean the printout separately (eg. on folding tray) and then sieve the remaining powder for further use. 

Why should I purchase Multi PHS? Do I need the workstation for SLS post-processing?

No, you can post-process printouts without the workstation. Your decision to purchase depends primarily on your specific printing requirements.If you plan on printing a large number of parts or using multiple types of SLS powders during the printer’s lifetime, it’s advisable to consider purchasing the Multi PHS. It saves your time, effort, material, and consequently, money.

How much unsintered powder is recovered?

Up to 98%, on average it can be closer to 95%.

How long does it take to clean the Multi PHS and use different powder?

Cleaning time can range from 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the used material.

Is it safe?

Yes, the use of Multi PHS is completely safe. The main risk factors like vapors, airborne dust, ignition, and explosion are thoroughly tested to ensure they are contained within safety guidelines. In addition, Multi PHS is ATEX attested as a part of the Performance set.
